Number 6 has left The Village.

Patrick McGoohan passed away. Number 6 has left The Village.

My first exposure to Mr. McGoohan's work was "The Prisoner", one of the most brilliant TV series of all time. I watched the series on New York City's PBS station. I was a teenager living in the ghetto and a hardcore comicbook/sci-fi/horror buff. And I was at the perfect age to encounter "The Prisoner" with it's themes of resistance to authority, the assertion of the individual's right to exist and the steely intellect of Mr. McGoohan's character "Number 6". No one in the world could've portrayed that character with the utter conviction that Mr. McGoohan bought to his performance.

It's a sad fact of life that we don't get a chance to say "thank you" to the people whose work means so much to us. I wish I could've said "thank you" to Jack Kirby, Alex Toth, George Pal, El Santo, Blue Demon and Patrick McGoohan.

Thank you Mr. McGoohan and good night to you sir.pppp
